Our Story:
Bears of Love was founded by a group of people with one common belief and goal — to help those who are often the most helpless. As we looked around the world and saw so many orphans who are in need of a little help, we realized that we can use our blessings to do something.
We are made up of 100% volunteers. We are from various backgrounds and all have our own lives with different jobs and in different locations, but we are joined by a singular goal and desire. We are adding to our team constantly whenever someone comes to us with a desire to help. We believe at the end of the day that we can achieve our overall mission with hard work and love. We do this work with the singular mindset that people will see the work you do, but God will see the reason you are doing it.
Our Mission:
Our mission and vision are, to be able to reach children all over the world in the united states and every other nation and let them know that they are loved. Our desire is to provide each child especially orphans with a bear that demonstrates that love. We want to also provide for those that have the most need and cannot meet those needs themselves. Meeting those needs include providing food, clothing, shelter, toiletry items, medical and other humanitarian aid. America is the most generous and giving nation on the face of the earth and we believe at Bears of love that we can help provide those needs through donations of love. No child should every feel alone or unloved and it is our hope, desire and mission to make sure they do not.
Our Core Beliefs:
Since this is a faith-based, Christian organization, we do everything we can to adhere to the Christian tenants found within the Bible. Three core beliefs that apply to this work include:
- We believe that we are all created in the image of an almighty God (Genesis 1:26-28).
- We believe that children are special and are loved by God (Matthew18:10, 19:13-14).
- We believe that it is our responsibility to help children in need, especially those without families (James 1:27).
How Does “Bears of Love” Work?
Our work begins by raising donations for handmade bears. The bears are made by volunteers and they they are packed and shipped overseas to various locations. The bears are specifically sent to orphanages to bring some love and cheer to those who are in need.
When the bears are sent to orphans we also include a monetary amount for that orphanage. Some times we may present some of the donated Instead of just presenting cash directly to the orphanage, we will partner with local organizations or individuals and make specific purchases for the children
Every donation goes 100% to the work with 75% going directly to the orphans care and the other 24% goes toward operating expenses for the work. These operating expenses would include shipment costs, transportation expenses, etc. However, this is a 100% volunteer group which means no one gets paid for this work and no one is a paid staff member of the organization.
